On Friday, benchmark indices ended marginally higher led by Banking & IT stocks. However, both the Sensex & Nifty ended the week in loss after three consecutive weekly gains.

For the week, NSE Nifty slipped by 0.44pc, while the Sensex fell by 0.25pc. The NiftyMidcap index lost 1pc for the week.

The RBI has slashed its benchmark interest-rate this week by 25bps for the third consecutive time, was the major landmark for the market this week.

On Friday, the BSE Sensex closed 86 points higher at 39,616, down 0.2pc, while the NSE Nifty50 ended 27 points higher at 11,870, down 0.3pc.

In sectoral Nifty indices, the Nifty PSU Bank index fell the most, down 4pc Nifty Pharma and Media index down 3.3pc each the Nifty Energy down 2pc, the Nifty Realty down 1.6pc and the Nifty Bank down 1pc for the week. Meanwhile, the Nifty FMCG index rose 0.4pc for the week, and the NiftyAuto and the NiftyMetal, were also up 0.2pc.

Top Nifty Gainers for the week include Coal India up 4pc followed by Bharti Infratel up 4pc, Wipro and Hero MotoCorp and were up 3pc each. On the other hand, top Nifty losers include GAIL which was down 13pc followed YesBank down 9.74pc, and Zee Entertainment & Indiabulls Housing Finance declined 7pc each for the week.
