Indian share benchmarks – Sensex, Nifty – are moving higher after opening a flat note on Wednesday with some buying interest in Infosys and Wirpo.
At 10.00am, the BSE Sensex traded 50points higher at 38,413 and the NSE Nifty50 surged 4points to 11,536.
Foreign Portfolio investors continue to buy shares in Indian markets and in Tuesdays session, Rs.2,132-crore worth shares were bought by them as per NSE data.
Five of 11 sector gauges compiled by NSE were trading higher led by major gains in Nifty IT and Realty by 1.21% and 1.93% in sequence. Conversely, Nifty media index hit hard falling 2.45% at 2,477.25. The metal Index also trade lower near 1%.
Indiabulls HF, Infosys, Hindalco, Wipro, and Vedanta were among top gainers in the Nifty50 pack of shares, whereas, Hindustan Petroleum, Zee Entertainment, Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil, and ONGC were among major laggards.
