Realty stocks were trading in the upper circuit in the otherwise volatile market with the NSE Nifty Realty index grooming 0.95pc at 266.75 during the mid-session trade on Friday.

Among the components of the Nifty Auto index, Oberoi Realty trade higher by 5.50pc, Phoenix Mills added 2.08%, Prestige up by 1.54%, Mahindra Lifespace  increased 1pc, Brigade Enterprises up by 0.71%, Sobha up by 0.55%, Sunteck Realty added 0.33% and Godrej Properties moved up 0.18%

Auto, FMCG and IT also witness buying in the Nifty sectoral index of the NSE.

Out of the 50-scrip, Nifty 17 stocks were trading in the green, while the rest 33 stocks were in the red.

A total of 9 stocks rose to hit their one-year-high levels on the NSE include Gujrat State Petronet, Phoenix Mills, Prestige Estates Projects, Vadilal Industries, S Sanginita Chemicals, Sanco Industries and Waterbase.

On the other hand, a total of 30 securities recorded their one-year-high levels on the NSE include Alok Industries, Dalmia Bharat, Eveready Industries, Manpasand Beverages and Petron Engineering Construction.

The most active stock on the NSE includes Maruti, Yes Bank, HDFC, and Tata Motors.

At 11.55 hrs, the Nifty stood at 10980-level (-2%) and the Sensex scaled up at 37,110-mark (+2%) with major loss in Yes bank and DrReddys.
