Information Technology (IT) stocks are continuing with marginal gains during the mid-market session, with the Nifty IT Sectoral index rising 58 points at 16,707.65 during the mid-noon session.
On the other hand, the Metal stock continues its downtrend with the Nifty Metal index falling 3 percent to 2,533.85.
Among the components of the NSE IT index, Infosys advanced 1.30 percent, Tata Elxsi and Tech Mahindra gained near one percent each, besides Wipro and TCS to 0.30 and 0.20 percent each.
However, Mindtree slipped 1.20 percent, followed by HCL Technologies, NIIT Tech, JustDial and Hexaware which were down by 0.45 to 0.90 percent respectively.For Stock market tips click on the link.
On the other hand, in the weak market today, Metal stocks slipped the most down by 3 percent among sectoral constituents of the Nifty, wherein Jindal Steel slipped deeply by 4.9 percent followed by JSW Steel, Hindalco, Vedanta, Hindustan Copper, and SAIL which were down by 3.20 to 4 percent.
Among the other losers in Metal stocks were Tata Steel, MOIL, Coal India, NALCO, Welspun Corp, NMDC and Hindustan Zinc – down by 1 to 2 percent in range.
At 11.55-hrs, the NSE Nifty stood lower at 11961, down by 119 points while the BSE Sensex was down 383 points at 40786-level.
Among the fifty stocks in the Nifty, 41 stocks witnessed selling pressure, while the remaining 11 nos were seen buying.
