Indian stocks closed lower on Monday led by losses in pharma, metal and Energy stocks. The benchmarks came out with selling after the Central Bank in its October monetary policy slashed FY20 GDP growth forecast to 6.1-pc from 6.9-pc earlier. The Nifty settled at 11,126.40 down 0.43% from the previous closing.
A total of 187 securities on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined to their one-year lows on Monday. This includes Glenmark Pharmaceuticals at its one-year low at Rs.826 per share, Grasim Industries Limited at Rs.633.60, India Bulls Housing Finance at Rs.213.50 and GRP Limited at Rs.826. On closing GRP Limited share price advanced to Rs.939 per share, up by 8.16% from, it’s previous closing.
On the other hand, a total of 16 securities on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose to their one-year highs on Monday, wherein it includes Adani Green Energy at its one-year high Rs.68.70, Whirlpool of India Limited at Rs.2028.50 and Dixon Technologies at Rs.3060.
