Markets extended gains to close at a record high for the 3rd consecutive session on Thursday, 19-Dec, mainly led by auto and IT sectors.
At close, the Sensex benchmark ended 115 points up at 41,673.92, while NSE flagship Nifty settled 38-pt higher at its new closing peak of 12,259.70.
The indices, at their intra-day deals, hit their maximum day-high-levels at 41,719 by Sensex, and the Nifty by 12,268 in trade.
Yes, Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Eicher Motors, Tata Motors, and Bharti Airtel were the top winners on the Nifty50 index, while Vedanta, Grasim Industries, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, and HDFC were losers.
Six out of 11 sectoral gauges constituted by the Nifty ended in the green with upper limit buying seen in the Nifty Auto index which surged 1.03% led by Eicher Motors, TVS Motors, and Tata Motors.

Shares in the Tale-communication sectors rallied after the reports of a possible increase in Average revenue per user in the near future. Responsively, Bharti Airtel share rose 2.74%, Reliance Industries added 2.36% on the NSE, while Vodafone Idea closed higher by 2.49% on the BSE.
