Tata Motors Limited’s Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported an 8 percent decline in its November retail sales, reflecting the continuing challenging market conditions in China.
JLR sold 48,160 cars in November 2018 as against 52,332 cars in the previous year. The company sold 14,909 Jaguars in November 2018, up 9 percent on year on year basis.
Non-Chinese markets, in the meantime outperformed. Retail sales were up 18 percent in North America, setting a record for sales in November, mainly on account of strong sales of Range Rover models. Sales were also 5.6 percent up in Europe and 3.2% higher in the UK.
Tata Motors Limited share price is lively at Rs 163.30, up 0.40 percent, from its previous close of Rs 162.65 on the NSE. The scrip opened at Rs 162.25 and has touched an intraday high of Rs164.20 and a low of Rs 160.80 during mid-market trade, Friday.
