Though elections results always bring volatility in the Indian markets, however, this time there are many significant factors that have worsened the factor of uncertainty in the economy.
NSE sectorally, the Nifty Metal index, the top loser of the day, ended 2.83 percent lower at 3299.2 today, weighed by Hindalco Industries, Jindal Steel & Power and Tata Steel. Conversely, Nifty IT index slipped with constituents Wipro, Infibeam and Tech Mahindra.
Except Nifty auto, Nifty media and Nifty realty, which was trading moderately up, all the rest Nifty sectoral indices were moving on lower terrain.
On Friday’s closing, share price of Yes Bank quoted both on the BSE and NSE at Rs 192.70 down by almost 6.49%, while the benchmark BSE Sensex closed at 35457.16, up 197 points and the NSE nifty settled at 10682 up 65.50 points.
Reacting to the share buyback proposals, shares of Tata Investment Corpn rose 14.74% on Wednesday’s closing, quoting share price at Rs. 806 per share on the NSE, whose benchmark index Nifty settled 06% higher at 10,576 in trade today.
