Sensex falls 550 Points As Rupee Hits Lifetime Low 

Share benchmarks crashed on Wednesday, as the domestic currency hit a new lifetime low of 73.40 to the dollar, in spite of strong cues from across Europe.

The BSE Sensex was down 550.51 points at 35,975.63 and the NSE Nifty50 plunged 150.05 points at 10,858.25. IT sector stocks, which should have rallied due to a falling rupee, plunged, dragging the indices lower.
