Key benchmark indices opened on a flat note on Thursday, with the Nifty50 lower 10,820 mark. The domestic currency opened at 71.27 against the US dollar and slowly recovered further to 71.20, while Crude oil futures of WTI fell 38% to USD 52.42-mark.
The BSE Sensex is down 67 points at 36,040-level and the Nifty50 is lower 19 points at 10,812-mark at around 9.45 am.
HPCL, Asian paints, Sun Pharma, Zee Entertainment and ITC were among major gainers at this time, while Tata Motors, Bharti Infratel, JSW steel and Mahindra & Mahindra were among major losers.
On the sectoral space, Nifty FMCG, media, pharma, PSU bank and realty were trading with marginal gains while Metal, IT, auto, Bank, Financial services were in the red.
Shares in Bharti Infratel down 1.46 percent after the company reported a rise in net profit 10.76% on 3.03% fall in total income on year-on-year.
