Benchmark indices –Sensex & Nifty- opened flat to higher note on Monday. Asian
stocks started the week on mostly positive note on Monday. Japanese stocks
posted the biggest gains today, with stocks in HongKong & South Korea also up.
On commodity watch, Crude Oil began the week on a softer note, after completing its 6th consecutive week of gains Friday, with a report indicating increased US oil-rig movements.
9:50AM, the BSE Sensex moved up over 87pts to hover at 38,854 levels
with Tata Motors, Coal India, TCS, HCL Tech and Vedanta among the top gainers.
The Nifty50 of the NSE, on the other hand, is trading 24pts higher at 11,667
SunPharma, Bharti Airtel, Gail India and BPCL were among major losers on
the Nifty, while Tata Motors, Coal India and TCS were top gainers.
Nifty Pharma index which traded near 0.50 percent lower at 9,382-level, all the
other sectoral indices of the NSE were trading in the green.
Today: Tinplate, TRF Ltd, Tata Metaliks, Hathway Cable Datacom, Network18, TV18-Broadcast
are among some top companies, which are scheduled to announce their Q4 results
