Indian shares have gained force in the afternoon trades amid all round buying recorded in scrips across the sectors. Sensex closed higher by 227-points at 37318.53, while Nifty50 ended at 11222, up 73.80 points.
Indiabulls Housing, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Vedanta and Gail were among top Nifty50 index gainers, while TechMahindra, BajajFinance, TCS, HCL Tech and Wipro were among the top losers on the index.
Barring Nifty IT that fell 1.21%, all sectoral indices have ended in profits. Nifty PSU Bank is the biggest index gainer by 2.85%, led by gains in Union Bank, PNB, Allahabad bank and Bank of India, up to 4 to 5 percent gains
Nifty IT was dragged Tech Mahindra, TCS, HCL Tech and Wipro traded in the red.
Over 250 stocks hit new 52-week low on NSE including Bharat Forge, Biocon, Bosch, Ceat, Cadila Healthcare, Dabur India, Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Infosystems, Graphite India, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Elxsi among others.
