Domestic share markets continued their lower trend throughout the day with the Sensex plunging 572 points to 35,312 levels, while the Nifty slumped 181 points to end at 10,601 levels, on closing.
The market volatility continued throughout the session ahead of the exit polls and OPEC meeting lined up later in today.
All sectoral indices on the NSE ended in the red with the Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto being the worst-performing indices ending lower at 2.49% and 2,24% respectively, followed by Nifty PSU Bank, Pharma and FMCG indices, which declined upto 1.86% while Bank Nifty is down 1.21 percent at 26,198.30
Further, among stocks Sun Pharma, JSW Steel, Gail India and PowerGrid were leading the gainers group on the NSE. Conversely, Indiabulls housing, Maruti, Bajaj Finserve and Tech Mahindra were top losers.
