Share benchmarks climbed for the third consecutive session on Wednesday amid rising crude oil prices and strength in domestic currency. The rupee opened at a 2-week high of 73.41 per US dollar against previous close 73.46.
The BSE Sensex surged 265 points at 35427-mark and the Nifty up 71 points at 10,655-level at the time of thi8s reporting. Gail India, Infosys, ICICI Bank Hindustan Unilever and Eicher Motors have started trading with gains while Indiabulls, BPCL, ONGC and M&M were trading in losses.
Except Nifty Pharma index which trade lower 0.07 percent at 9,829.55, all the sectoral indices on the NSE are trading in green.
Nifty IT index went up over 1 percent with major constituents such as Infosys, HCL Tech, TCS, Tech Mahindra, were trading between range 2.47% to 0.50 percent. Nifty Midcap index is also trading higher by over 1 percent.
Infosys’ shares have risen 2.35 percent on the back of strong earnings results. Also, Reliance Industries Ltd to announce its earnings results today. Reliance at present quote at 1,170.60 up 0.58 percent
