Sensex, Nifty Trade Higher, Metal Stocks Lead

Stock market benchmark indices, Sensex-Nifty made a positive flow on Thursday led by strong global cues.

At 10am, the BSE Sensex was trading with gains of 103-pts, while the NSE Nifty was up 51-pts in trade.

ONGC, Coal India, BPCL, IOC and NTPC were among major Nifty gainers at this point, while HDFC, ICICI Bank, Hindustan UniLever, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra led the losses.

Sectoral indices are in mixed trends with Nifty Metal, Auto, FMCG, IT, Media, Pharma and Banking witness buying, while financial and Realty were seen some selling.

Metal stocks lead the higher with Nifty Metal index rising at 2,318.55, up by 2.83% led by gains in Coal India, National Aluminium was leading gainers in trade.

Nifty Banking stocks exhibit stregnth with the popular Nifty Bank index marginally rising up by 0.8% led by gains in PNB, Yes Bank and Axis Bank.

Shares of Tata Motors picked up in trade by 2.74% at Rs112.50 per share after JLR reported numbers from the U.S.

Shares in NMDC was up by 3.39% to Rs.82.30 per share after production in August month was placed at 1.41MT.
