Stock market benchmark indices opened on a positive terrain led by strong global signals on Tuesday with the Nifty crossing over 12140 levels.
Meantime, the Indian rupee traded higher by 6-ps at 71.23/USD as against the previous close of 71.29.
At 9.45-am, the BSE Sensex scaled 367 points higher at 41346-level, whereas the NSE Nifty stood at 12145, higher by 113 points.
Gail India, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Hindalco were leading in Nifty toppers, whereas TCS, Zee Entertainment were losers.
All the sectoral indices of the NSE-Nifty are trading in the green-zone with major gains in the Nifty Metal, Banking, and Auto.

Nifty Bank and Private Bank indices rose 2.29 percent each led by RBL, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, and ICICI Bank.

Shares of Info-Edge rose 0.30 percent to Rs.3,022.70-per share on acquiring up to a 25-percent stake in Sunrise Mentors for Rs.37.1-Cr.
