Key benchmark indices opened on a positive note on Friday with Nifty over 11,000 level, tracking global signals.
At 9.55am, The BSE Sensex rose 191-pts at 37,260-mark, while the NSE Nifty index gained 59-pts at 11007-level
Hindalco, Gail India, Vedanta, Tata Steel and JSW Steel were leading set of gainers on the Nifty50 index,k while IndiaBull Housing, Bharti Infratel, TechMahindra, HCL Tech and Infosys led the losses.
Except Nifty media and IT, all the sectoral indices are trading in profits, with maximum gains in Nifty metal index, which is up by 2.24%, led by gains in Hindalco, Jindal Steel and Vedanta 3.24 to 3.37% in range.
Shares of banking, metal auto, finance, FMGC, realty sectors are witnessing buying. IT index face selling pressure as the rupee starts flat on the dollar. Bank Nifty Index, the popular key NSE Nifty, is moving at 27,406.35 as the banking sector shares are trading at a profit.
The Indian rupee started flat at 71.78/USD against Thursday’s close 71.80.
