Domestic stock market indices slipped once again on Friday morning with Sensex falling over 1000 points on the back of worrying concerns over coronavirus spread.
The price of Crude also declined for a sixth consecutive session on Friday, and thus far reported a weekly fall of about 12 percent.
At 9.40-am, the Sensex is down 1122 points at 38623-level, and the Nifty tanked by 335 points at 11297-level.
All the sectoral indices on the Nifty slipped with major selling in the Nifty metal-down by 4.79-percent, followe4d by Nifty Media-down by 4.36-pc, Nifty Auto-down by 3.45-pc and the Nifty Realty-down by 3.96-pc. For Nifty tips visit our website.
Banking, Financial, Pharma, and FMCG slipped by more or less 2 percent each.
Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW Steel, and Hindalco were among major losers in the Nifty, while there is currently no gainers in both the Sensex and Nifty benchmarks.
Metal stocks witnessed deep selling with Jindal Steel, Tata Steel, Vedanta, NMDC, Sail, JSW Steel, Welspun Corp, and Hindalco which have slipped by 6 and 7 percent each.
