Sensex, Nifty End Lower; Pharma Stocks Witness Selling

Key benchmark indices erased its morning gains and the stock turned volatile through mid-market session and the indices ended lower on closing.

The BSE Sensex closed 100.50 points lower at 38,132.88 and the NSE Nifty50 closed at 11,445, down 38.20 points.

Sectoral NSE indices are on mixed note. Nifty financial service, Auto, FMCG, IT, Pharma and Realty were ended in the red, where maximum selling pressure witnessed in Pharma and Auto Sector stocks.

Nifty Bank, PSU Bank, Pvt Bank, Media, Metal closed in the green where maximum gains seen in Nifty PSU bank index up by 1.59percnet led by gains in OBC, Union Bank and SBI. On the other hand, The Nifty Pharma index slipped 1.04perent to 9,148.80, with all the components ending in the red.

From the IT sector, the index ended lower at 15,339.40 down 0.11% with falls inn Infibeam, TCS and Tech Mahindra

HPCL, NTPC, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel and Eicher Motors were among the top losers on the Nifty50, whereas Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Indiabulls, JSW Steel and SBI were top gainers on the index.
