Indian stocks closed higher on Tuesday, led by gains in the Metal and auto stocks. The rise Key stocks such as Reliance, ICICI Bank, HDFC also lifted the indices. Shares of Gail India come out as the top Nifty gainer, closing 5.91 percent to Rs129.00-per share.
The BSE Sensex settled 236-pt higher at 41,216, and the Nifty50 index added 76 points at 12,108. In broader space, the Nifty Midcap-100 rose 0.2 percent and Small-Cap gained 0.03 percent, each.
Gail-India, JSW-Steel, Bharti-Infratel, NTPC & Maruti Suzuki India were top gainers in the Nfity50, while Yes Bank, BPCL, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra led the losses.
Barring Nifty FMCG, which slipped 0.37 percent, the complete sectoral indices closed in the green. The Nifty Media index rose most by 1.63 percent, led by INOX Leisure, Sun TV Network and Network18 Media, by 4 to 5.35 percent.For best stock advisory service click on the link.
Meantime, the Nifty Metal gained 0.87 percent wherein JSW Steel, MOIL, Hindalco went up to 3.87 percent, while Nifty Pharma added 0.77 percent for the day and Nifty Private Bank also rose by 0.71 percent. Among the stock reacted to results, Siemens closed 1.40 percent higher to Rs.1496.45-per share, after the company reported a 4.5-percent slip in its revenue at Rs.2,611-cr, besides 15.2-percent advancement in PAT at Rs.263-cr for the first quarter of the FY20 as compared to the matching quarter of the previous year.
