Sensex, Nifty indices, after having risen in the morning session, closed lower pulled by metal stocks. Further, US-China trade concerns on the global market added to the investor’s sentiments.
Besides, selling in Metal stocks, pharma, PSU banks, FMCG, auto and IT stocks the market lower. The BSE benchmark Sensex lost 141 points to end at 37,531, while the NSE Nifty slipped 48 points to close at 11126.40. YES Bank (up 8%) being the top gainer on both the Nifty and Sensex, whereas Tata Steel (down 2.50%) as the biggest loser on the Nifty.

Zee Entertainment, Britannia, Axis Bank and Nestle India were the other Nifty gainers, whereas JSW Steel, ONGC, Ultratch Cement and Cipla followed among top Nifty losers.
Among sectoral gauges, pharma stocks slipped the most, down 3.35 pc, followed by metal, which slipped 1.19 pc, Realty stocks down 1.17% and PSU bank stocks declined 1.07%
YES Bank gained 8 pc to close at Rs 45.35 per share on the NSE after news reported that the Bank was in talks with Microsoft Corp and two more technology companies to sell up to 15 pc stake.
Shares of Ambuja Cements, Apollo Micro Systems, Aurobindo Pharma, EverReady Industries, Grasim, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited were among the 187 stocks from the Nifty index that hit their respective One-year lows on the NSE during the session.
The September quarter earnings season of Nifty companies come up on Wednesday with IndusInd Bank and TCS announcing results.
