Sensex, Nifty Again Dip As Selling Pressure Increased

Continuing the index down-trend for the 6th consecutive trading session, the BSE Sensex closed at 37789-level, down by 487.50 points, while Nifty50 closed at 11,359.45, down by 138.45 points on Wednesday. The Nifty Bank index closed down by 293 points or 1-percent at 28,994.40

Top losers on the Nifty were Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Finance, Reliance, Tata Motors and Bajaj Finserve. Zee Entertainment lead the loser down over 10%, while Bajaj Finance, Reliance were down more than 3 percent.

As many as 150 stocks that touched their 52-week lows on the NSE included the shares of HCL Info systems, Britannia Industries, Vodafone Idea, IDBI Bank, JK Tyres, DB Realty, IL&FS Transportation, Eveready Industries and Bosch among others. 

Sectorally, Nifty Media, Nifty Realty and Pharma were in deep down 4.53%, 2.11% and 1.58%, respectively.

Index heavyweights Reliance dragged Sensex the most by 3.35% followed by Bajaj Finance and Tata Motors by 3.22% and 2.80% respectively.
