Stock market indices slipped about 1 percent on Tuesday for a second day in row, on account of late selling, weak global signals and worrying concern about US-China trade dispute. The BSE Sensex ended down by 0.84pc or 323.71-pts to close at 38,276.63. Likewise, the broader NSE Nifty declined 0.87pc or 110.35-pts to end lower at 11,497.90.

Among sectoral indices, the Nifty Media index witnessed heavy loss, down 2.74pc, the Nifty PSU Bank index slipped 2.2pc while Nifty IT ended in green.

Tata Motors came out the top loser in the Nifty50, declined 4.90pc, followed by Zee Ent, ICICI Bank, Reliance and JSW Steel, fell up to 2.98pc. On the other hand, HUL, Bharti Infratel, L&T, Hindalco and Wipro rose up to 1.7pc.

Shares of FMCG major Marico ended the day 5.76pc higher at Rs359.15 after the company reported strong earnings for the Q4FY2019

Shares of ICICI Bank slipped 3.76pc at Rs386.20, a day after the lender reported 5pc fall in Q4 net profit for the quarter ended March 2019 to Rs.969-Crore.

Bharti Airtel lost 2.88pc at Rs 323.85 on the NSE despite strong set of numbers, 29pc rise in Q4 net profit.
