Sensex closed 595-pt, on Future and Option May Expiry


Key benchmark indices ended the day significantly higher for the second consecutive day ahead of the expiry day of Future and Option (F&O), led by strong global cues.

The BSE Sensex closed the day higher by 595-pts at 32200 level, while the Nifty touched higher at 9490-level up by 175-pts in trade. All the key sectoral indices went up, with Banking stocks shining most.

Shares of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd rallied 10.13-pc even after the company reported a net consol-loss of Rs.146.59-Cr in the 4-quarter-ended March 31, 2020, led by the Covid pandemic.

Adani Power declined 2.30-pc in spite of the company reporting that MP Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved setting up of a 1320-Megawatt thermal power plant in MP.
