A massive buying witnessed in stocks across boarders on the exchanges on Friday’s trading session following the uptrend in the global markets.
The Sensex closed 1627 points at 29915.96 while the NSE Nifty closed 482 points up at 8745.45 in the last trading session of the week.
Bharti Infratel rose 22.61 percent, ONGC climbed 17.77 percent, GAIL rose 16.43 percent, Hindustan Unilever rose 12.88 pc and Ultratech Cement added 12.47 percent were among major gainers in the Nifty.
On the downside, only four stocks such as HDFC Bank, AdaniPorts, IndusInd Bank, and Axis Bank led the losses.

The entire sectoral indices outperformed with major gains in the Nifty FMCG, IT, Metal Pharma, Auto, Financial and Realty 8.77 and 2.33 percent each.
Shares in the State-run ONGC led 17.77-pc to Rs.71.90-per share as crude oil prices bounced back. Gail India, Reliance, HPCL and BPCL also rallied among OMC stocks led by crude oil factor.
