Markets remained under stress amid global sell-off on coronavirus fears. Sensex plunged over 1500 points intraday at 38,219 while Nifty hit low at 11,175. Metal, Technology, media, PSU-Bank, and auto companies were among the bottom hit.

Among the metal constituents, Vedanta tanked 13.56-percent in today’s trade and Jindal Steel-down by 9.41 percent, followed by Welcorp, Hindalco, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, and SAIL by 7 to 8-pc
Among the Nifty top losers, it appears Vedanta, Tata Motors, Hindalco, Tech Mahindra, and Tata Steel, whereas Indian Oil Corp and Maruti Suzuki rose marginally and were only the Nifty gainers.
The Nifty IT index tanked 5.27 percent amid selling in NIIT Tech, TechMahindra and HCL Technologies, among others.
The Nifty Auto index slipped over 3.76-pc led by sharp selling pressure in the global markets on worries about the coronavirus. Tata Motors tanked 10.74 pc, Ashok Leyland dropped 7.96 pc followed by Bosch, Mahindra, Amaraja Batteries, Bharat Forge and Apollo tyre fell in the range of 10-5 per cent respectively.
Exide Industries, Vedanta, Larsen & Toubro, Mangalore Refinery& Petrochemicals, ONGC, Sterlite Technologies, PNB Housing Finance, Hindalco Industries, Graphite India, Oil India, Bosch, and Godrej Consumer hit a one-yer-low in share price both on the BSE and NSE.
