In a move to avail another additional hedging tool for investors to make their portfolio risk more competent, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) On Monday launched new weekly options in the Nifty-50 index.
India’s top exchange NSE said in a release that the Nifty50 Index options are already available for 3-monthly option contracts, 3-quarterly and 8- semi-annual option contracts. The exchange has also obtain permission from market regulator Sebi to launch weekly options on Nifty IT Index and the contract details and the date of launch will be announced shortly, it added.
The Nifty50 weekly options will have 7-consecutive weekly expiry contracts, excluding the week where monthly contracts expire. The Nifty50 Index derivatives are widely traded by domestic and international participants.
