National Stock Exchange (NSE), a leading stock exchange of India, for gold exchange traded funds (ETFs) and sovereign Gold Bonds or SGBs on account of Akshay Tritiya, has extended trading hours till 7pm on May 7.
The NSE said in a circular that the extended live trading session will commence at 4.30pm and end at 7.00pm. After the extended market is closed, there will be no closing session, exchange added.
The outstanding orders of SGBs and gold ETFs will be carried forward to the extended trading session and members can cancel the same during the pre open period of extended market session between 4.25pm & 4.30pm.
In India, buying gold ornaments in the occasions like AkshayTritiya, Dhanteras and Diwali are treated to be auspicious.
