The Sensex ended Wednesday’s session slightly up led by gains in Tata Steel, Kotak bank, NTPC, HDFC and PowerGrid, while Nifty finished entirely flat at 11691-level with heavy losses in India bulls Housing (down 8.49%), Yes bank (-4.89%), and UPL (down 4.67%). On the other hand, TataSteel, Zeel, KotakBank, NTPC and TitanCompany were among the gainers on the index.
The benchmarks seen huge volatility and the Sensex dropped over 550 points from the intraday high level of 39,435 and the NSE Nifty50 Index fell below key level of 11,950.
On closing, the Sensex ended 66pts higher at 39,113 and the NSE Nifty 50 Index closed unchanged at 11,691.
Among major stocks, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) settled 0.46% higher, closing at Rs2261.20 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Shares of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) ended slightly up by 0.08% at close, settling at Rs1282 on NSE.
HDFC Bank shares gained 0.75% in trade today closing at Rs2435.45 on NSE.
Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) closed at Rs1814.05 per share, up by 0.25% on NSE.
Shares of NBFC major HDFC stock settled at Rs2180.90, up by 1.30% on he NSE.
