Nifty Sensex trade higher; Pharma, Metal stocks gain

Market frontline indices rebounded sharply on Thursday and recovered some previous day’s losses led by positive global cues. The BSE benchmark Sensex was up 173-pts at 38,730-level and the NSE Nifty50 gained 54-pts at 11,553-level at 10.10am.

JSW Steel, Vedanta, Dr.Reddys, ZEEL and Tata Steel were among major Nifty gainers at this point, while Titan, TechMahindra, ICICI Bank, TCS and Infosys led the losses.

Among buzzing s tocks, shares of GTPL Hathway rose 15.31% at Rs61.75per share after company reported strong earnings performance for quarter concluded June-2019.

Shares in BajajAuto trade marginally lower as the stock traded ex-dividend.

Shares in Dewan Housing Finance Corp (DHFL) was marginally higher (up 0.71%) after reports that banks will give further loans to DHFL only if company promoters were to pledge their shares as collateral.

Sectorally, barring Nifty IT index which trades marginally lower, all the other sectoral spaces are trading in the green with maximum gains in Nifty Metal and Pharma.
