Sensex and Nifty have traded substantially at highs in April month in the midst of Lok Sabha elections. Also, markets are being led by Q4 corporate-earning optimism, as well as by foreign capital inflows and improved Indian liquidity state of affairs.
For the month April, the BSE Sensex rose 0.93% and NSE Nifty50 advanced 1.07%. Nifty50 among top 10 gainers for the month April, emerged by Tata Motors with a monthly rise of 22.98%, followed by Wipro up 17.17%, UltraTech Cement, up 15.47%, TCS up 12.92%, and HCL Tech up 8.82%.
Conversely, top losers on Nifty50 were YES Bank with a monthly down change of 38.93% followed by Indiabulls Housing Finance, down 18.97%, Bharti Infratel down 16.23%, IndusInd Bank down 9.75% and Vedanta declined 9.54%
On BSE Sensex top gainers for the month were Tata Motors up 22.89%, Tata Motors DVR up 19.11%, Lupin, up 17.81%, Wipro up 17.13% and TCS up 12.72%, while top losers were Vedanta down 9.20%, PowerGrid down 5.96%, Sun Pharma down 4.65%, and Mahindra & Mahindra down 3.92% and SBI down 3.30%
