The Indian market key benchmark indices started on a weak note on Tuesday with the Nifty clocking below 10,100-level.
At 10.08am, the BSE Sensex is down 311-pts at 37,020-mark, while the NSE Nifty is down 95-pts at 10,927-level.
Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Ultratech Cement and BPCL were among major Nifty losers whereas Tech Mahindra, Yes bank, Britannia, HCL Tech and Bharti Infratel led the gains.
Except Nifty IT and Pharma, all the sectoral indices are trading in the red. The Nifty IT gained 0.74% led by gains in TechMahindra, HCL Technologies and Tata Elxi among others, while the Nifty PSU Bank loses 2.59% led by losses in PNB, Indian Bank and Union Bank, OBC and Canara Bank.
Nifty Banking, Auto, Financial and Metal also witness selling up to 1.58%. Auto stocks were seeing pressure after monthly sales report indicated that sales of vehicles considerably decreased in August, in comparison with the equivalent month last year.
