Domestic shares ended marginally lower on Friday as investors chose to book profit bookings following a strong rise in daily Indian coronavirus cases, while a Reliance Industries rally capped the losses.
The BSE Sensex closed 0.03-pc lower at 38,129 while the NSE Nifty50 settled 0.19-pc lower at 11,194-mark. The indices, however, recorded weekly gains for a fifth consecutive week, rising 2.96-pc and 2.63-pc respectively.
Both the indices have advanced over 33-pc each since India first moved into lockdown in late-March, while COVID cases climbed over the same period.
