Market front-line indices ended higher on
Wednesday with Nifty finished above 11,000 level supported by the
Banking, Metal and infrastructure stocks.
On closing, the BSE Sensex scaled up at at
37,311.53, up by 353-points whereas the NSE Nifty zoomed by
103-points at 11,029.40.
UPL, Bajaj Finserv, Zee Entertainment, Tata Steel
and Vedanta, were among major gainers on the Nifty, while Sun
Pharma, Indiabulls Housing, Wipro, Coal India and Dr Reddy’s Labs
led the losses.
On the sectoral front, The Nifty Metal index
concluded 2.34% higher, while the Nifty Pharma index closed 1.37%
Also, Nifty Media Index rose 2.76% and Nifty Bank
index and Private bank Index rose over 1% , Auto index went up 0.92%
followed by minimum gains in FMCG, energy and IT stocks.
Extending the gains in the previous session
Tuesday, the Reliance Industries stock surged 1.04% today.
Metals stocks such as Vedanta and Tata Steel also
gained by over 4% led 2.76% surge in Nifty Metal index.
Sun Pharma shares slipped by over 5% even after Company reported strong earnings for the quarter ended June.
