Front-line Indices continue the uptrend ahead of the expiry of the Future and Option (F&O) contracts in the September series. ICICI Bank, Hindalco and Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) contributed the most to the up-move in the Nifty. All banking indices in the sectoral Nifty supported by Auto index gave a momentum on the market rise.
During the mid-session at around 12.15 hrs, both the Nifty and Sensex scaled up 1 percent each.
Major trending stocks today: NHPC stock rose 2% intraday after the Power company inked an MoU with the govt of Himachal Pradesh for the execution of 449 MegaWatt Dugar HE Project in district Chamba. The stock is currently trading up by 1.64% to Rs.23.10 per share.
Shares of Power Mech Projectsrose 3% intraday after securing orders worth Rs.115-Cr. The stock is currently quoting at Rs.759 per share, up by 0.83% from the previous closing. The hit a high and low of Rs.775 and 745.80 respectively.
PSU Oil Marketing Company shares rose after crude oil slides. Shares in Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) were among lead gainer on Oil stocks. Nifty Financial Service sector stocks rallied on reports that the government could notify rules for resolution of Non-banking Financial companies. Shares of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co share price jumped 3.80% to Rs449.70, while ICICI Bank rose 3% to Rs.447 per share.
