The Indian share market opened on a strong note on Thursday led by positive global cues. The NSE Nifty traded superb above the 10,800-level, while the Sensex made a positive rally at the 36,000-level.
All sectoral indices on the NSE trade the green, except IT which was the single loser in the Nifty. Vedanta, BPCL, Hindalco and Tata Steel were among top nifty gainers while Yes bank, HCL Tech and ONGC were top losers at this time.
Yes Bank stocks once again plunged to their lowest by over 3 percent on Thursday after credit rating agencies CARE Ratings as well as ICRA downgraded ratings on the lender’s debt instruments, as per media reports.
Oil Marketing Companies were seeing strong gains, following a further fall in crude prices, meanwhile the domestic currency rose to a 3-month high against the US dollar. It has opened the day higher at 70.23 points to the dollar.
