Markets open lower in the last trading session of the year, led by negative Asian markets. In the meantime, India’s rupee value showed 5-ps higher at 71.26/USD against the last day’s close of 71.3/USD.
At 9.30-am, the BSE benchmark Sensex traded lower at 41478-level, down by 79 points, whereas the NSE Nifty50 index slipped 23 points at 12232.55.
Bharti Infratel, Cipla, Dr.Reddys, IOC and Gail India were among major gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks, while Tech Mahindra, Eicher Motors, IndusInd bank Mahindra&Mahindra and Wipro were among losers.
The Nifty Bank, Auto, Financial Service, IT and Private Bank slipped 0.45% each. IndusInd Bank, RBL Bank IDFC First bank were the major losers among the Nifty Bank Index.
Among top buzzing stock, shares of Piramal Enterprises slipped 0.71% to Rs.1,573.75 after the company approves the allotment of NCDs valued Rs1600-Cr.
Shares of Inox Leisure rose higher at Rs.385.70-per share up by Rs.2 from the Previous closing, after the company started business operations of a Multiplex Cinema Theater in Lucknow.
