Shares in the selected banking stocks are moving upward direction during the mid-session, in an otherwise weak market. At 12.20-pm, the Nifty PSU index recovered at 1,484.10, up by 0.24 percent with the majority of constituents witnessed buying.
Shares of Canara bank showed a gain of 7.15 percent, Punjab&Sind Bank surged near 2.28 percent, Punjab National Bank added 1.77 percent, Indian Bank rose 1.43 percent as the top rising constituents in the PSU index.

On the other hand, shares in Bank of Maharashtra, Central bank, UCO Bank, Jammu&Kashmir Bank, SBI and Indian overseas bank were seen some selling.
Meanwhile, four stocks hit their one-year-high levels on the NSE namely are Bafna Pharmaceuticals, Geekay Wires, Gujarat Apollo Industries and Ruchi Soya Industries.
In the fifty-scrip of the Nifty, nine shares witness buying, while the rest 41 stocks see selling.
