Markets started on flat note on Friday morning and quickly moved higher with the Nifty holding 10,800-mark. The domestic currency rupee opened flat at 70.42 against the dollar amid positive Asian equities and slump in crude oil prices with US WTI crude futures falling 0.4%, from their last settlement to USD 52.36 per barrel.
At 9.40 am, the BSE Sensex trade at 36123-levels, up17 points while the NSE Nifty is higher by 0.3% at 10824.60.
ONGC, HDFC, Hindalco, ICT and BPCL were among major gainers at this time, while TCS, Bharti Airtel, HCL Technologies were early losers.
HCL Technologies share price dipped 1.44% to Rs 9222.40 on NSE, while Infosys shares were trading higher at Rs 681.10 ahead of the Q3 results scheduled to be released later today.
The Nifty IT index trade in red by 0.75 percent, with TCS falling 1.89% at 1,870 after the IT major reported Q3 results yesterday. Nifty Auto, PSU Bank and Realty were the other losers.
