The domestic market opened lower on Thursday as U.S Federal Reserve increased key interest rates by 25 bps to a target range of 2.25 to 2.5 percent. Stocks across the world also fell after US Fed Reserve further hinted more rate hikes ahead.
The BSE Sensex after falling over 156 points in the opening, presently trade at 36,376 levels down by 107 points while the broader Nifty 50 declined 33 points to 10,934-levels during late morning hours, Thursday.
Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra were among major gainers at this points, while Hindalco, Vedanta, NTPC and Adani Ports were major losers.
Sectoral indices on the NSE are in mixed note, with Nifty metal falling the most, down by 1.23 percent.
Metal stocks declined most with Nalco fell 3 percent, Hindalco 2.5 percent, Vedanta 2.22 percent, SAIL, JSW Steel and Coal India 0.1 percent each among others.
