Share markets ended with strong gains and broke the eight-day losing streak on Wednesday. The benchmark Sensex gained 403.65-points to 35,756-mark while, the NSE Nifty50 surged 131-points to 10,735.42.
Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tata Steel, Vedanta, AdaniPorts and Hindalco were among the top gainers, while Dr.Reddy, Hero MotoCorp, and Hindustan UniLever were the top losers on the NSE.
All the sectoral indices ended in the green wherein metal stocks gained the most up by 2.80percent for a second straight session, led by Jindal Steel which contributed the most to the index gains.
Nifty bank, Financial Service, PSU Bank and IT were the other notable gainers in the index.
Among other stocks, HCL Tech rose 2.02-percnet at Rs1060-per share after the company bagged a massive service contact with EDF-Luminus.
Oil marketing companies (OMC) surged after crude slips. HPCL rose 2.68percnet, IOC up 2.93percent and BPCL added 1.42percent.
