Key Benchmark indices extended their uptrend in the afternoon session with the Nifty at 7,900. The Sensex is up 1145 points at 27,126 and the Nifty up by 299 points at 7,909 at 2.25-pm.
Britannia Industries, AdaniPorts, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finance and Infosys were among top gainers in the Nifty while losers include Grasim, M&M, PowerGrid, ITC and BPCL.
All sectoral indices, except the Nifty realty, witnessed buying pressure with major gains in the Nifty IT, Pharma, Banking and Auto.
