Market front-line indices trade lower during morning session Thursday, pulled by banking, Metal and Pharma stocks.

At 10.05-am, the Sensex traded 40 points lower at 40,075-level, while the Nifty50 of the NSE slipped 21-points to 11,819-mark.
IT major Infosys along with Yes bank, Eicher Motors, Titan and Grasim were major gainers on the Nifty pack of stocks, whereas Bharti Infratel, IndusInd bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Britannia led the losses.

In the sectoral gainers in the NSE, currently Auto, IT and Media rose up to 0.80%, while Bank, FMCG, Metal, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank and realty slipped.

Nifty PSU bank was the top sectoral loser, down by 1.4%, led major cut in Indian Bank, Syndicate bank, bank of Baroda, Central bank and Union Bank.

Among top buzzing stocks, Shares of Vodafone Idea slipped 16% while Bharti Bharti Airtel tanked 2.88% after the DoT issued a notice to the telecom players to pay their revenue share dues.

Shares of Bata surged over 2% to Rs1,719-per share after the company had posted consolidated net profit which went up over 30% at Rs71.3-cr.

Shares of PowerGrid declined after over 25-Lacs shares were changed hands in large trade.

Meantime, Crude oil prices advanced after a reported fall in US crude stock-piles last week, while the Indian rupee opened flat at 72.07/USD v/S Wednesday’s close of 72.09/USD.
