Indian stock market indices are trading marginally up in the opening session, Wednesday, 11-December.
Meantime, the Indian rupee opened up at 70.89/USD today as against its previous close 70.92.
At around 9.40-am, the BSE benchmark Sensex is up 80 points higher at 40320.32, and the NSE Nifty up by 24 points at 11881.
Bharti Infratel, Zee Entertainment, Gail India, TCS and ITC were among major gainers on the Nifty, while Yes Bank, EicherMotors, SBI, Hindustan Unilever and Cipla were major losers.

Nifty IT index outperformed, with all components are trading in the green. The index rose over 1% at 15,098.75 with major gains in Justdial, NIIT Tech, and TCS up to 2%. Also Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Wipro and Infosys are trading higher.
Among stocks, Yes Bank slipped 7-percent to Rs.47-per share, despite the Bank’s the Board was favorably considering ctax Holdings’ USD500 million offer.
Shares in Vodafone Idea advanced 6.11%, after reports that the company was considering to sell assets to Brookfield.
Shares in IDBI-Bank rose over 1-pc after the bank is set to sell up to 49-pc stake in its wholly subsidiaries IDBI-Capital.
Shares of V-guard Industries slipped 3.22% to Rs207.70-per share after its Promoter sold 1.2% stake via a block deal.
