Indian equity benchmark opened a flat level in Tuesday morning. Ahead of RBI’s monetary policy meeting today, the Sensex trade up 23 points at 36,606 and the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,920-mark up 8 points at 10.00 am. Markets are expected to rise more in today’s session.
Dr. Reddy’s, Titan Company, Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Auto and HeroMoto Corp were among major gainers at this time, while Bharti Airtel, Bharti INfratel, Indiabull Housing, Tata Motors and Wipro were major loser in the Nifty.
Sectoral constitutions are seen mixed with Nifty Bank, Auto, media, pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank indices are marginally up while, FMCG, IT, metal, realty and financial services are trading in the red.
Among specific stocks, Godrej Agrovet Ltd was down 3.65%, after Company’s net profit declined 17.45% to Rs 40.92 crore.
Stocks in Future Retail was down 2.85% after company’s net profit rose 10% to Rs 201.43 crore.
Shares of Bharti Airtel’s stock fell 3.36% as Moody’s Investor Service downgraded it by one notch to Ba-1 from Baa-3.
Meantime, the Indian rupee was trading a little higher by 0.15% at 71.70 against the US dollar.
