Gold prices dropped by Rs450 to Rs34,200 per ten grams at the bullion market today, led by weak global cues. Silver price also go with and fell by Rs425 to Rs41,050 per kilo on account a subdued global trend in the precious metals
Globally, gold prices plunged 0.10% to USD1,319.10 per ounce, while silver price held steady at USD15.80 an ounce in New York Thursday.
In New Delhi, gold of 99.9% and 99.5% purities dipped by Rs450 each to Rs34200 and Rs34030 per ten grams, respectively. However, Sovereign gold remained unchanged at Rs26,000 per piece of eight grams.
Silver price plunged by Rs425 to Rs41,050 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs262 to Rs39,868 per kg.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), Gold demonstrates 0.22 percent up at Rs33,243 per 10 gram at around 3.00 pm, and MCX Silver was trading 0.17 percent up at Rs 39,832 per 1 kg at around the same time.
