The Sensex and Nifty started marginally higher in the opening session, and later turned flat during mid-morning session. At around 10.45am, the Sensex stood at 37108.88 down 6 points and the Nifty at 11,153.50 down 3 points.
Sun Pharma, Yes bank, Bharti Airtel, Coal India and Eicher Motors were among major losers on the Nifty whereas Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment, PowerGrid, AdaniPorts and Infosys were positive contributors.
Among Sectors, Nifty IT, media and Realty stocks led gains while Pharma, PSU bank, FMCG, metal and Banking sectors were witnessing some selling pressures.
Among specific stocks, shares of Lupin slipped 4.30% to Rs748.50per share after the company posted a consolidated profit of Rs.296.37-crore for the Quarter ending March.
Shares of Petronet LNG were down 1.69% after Company’s net profit declined 15.78pc to Rs.440.20-Cr
Shares of Central Bank of India touched 52-week low of Rs 25.05 on the NSE, falling 4.9% after company’s net losses spiked in the quarter ended March 2019.
