Indian market benchmarks, Sensex & Nifty, ended with moderate losses after hitting high volatility throughout intraday. The BSE Sensex fell 67.27 points at 35,808.95, whereas the Nifty-50 index ended 19.80 points lower at 10,726.25, on closing.
Bharat Petroleum, NTPC, Gail, PowerGrid and Bharti Infratel were major gainers on the Nifty while JSW Steel, Dr.Reddys, SunPharma, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Steel were major losers.
All the sectoral indices of the NSE closed in the red led by greater falls in Nifty Pharma which fell 3.1 percent followed by metal which down 2.07%, PSU Bank fell 1.98% and Auto falls 1.10% in the weekend.
Among the buzzing stocks intraday today, Eveready Industries closed higher at 203.85 per share up by 0.34 percent on sharp decline in Q3 profit, while Bharat Dynamics soared 5.17 percent to Rs. 236.90 per share after strong Q3 numbers.
ONGC stock ended at Rs. 135.10 up 2.23 percent after strong Q3FY19 numbers, while Nestle India falls 1.26 percent at Rs. 10495 per share after Q4 margin contracts.
