The frontline indices Sensex, Nifty ended lower today weighed on heavy selling pressure on last hours. Sensex ended in the red falling 241 points to 36153-mark while Nifty closed 57 points down at 10831-mark.
Barring media, metal and pharma, all the NSE sectoral indices ended on a negative note with PSU Bank and Realty stocks losing the most.
Zee Entertainment, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma, NTPC and Coal India were among major gainers in the Nifty50, while Bharti Infrael, HeroMotor Corp, HDFC, SBI and ICICI Bank were major losers.
Nifty PSU Bank, being the top loser of day, declined 1.61 percent led by fall in Union bank, Bank and Oriental Bank. The Nifty Financial Service also ended 1.04 percent lower pulled by Edelweiss and HDFC. Nifty Metal index increased 1.57 percent followed by and Nifty media, up 1.33percent.
Shares of Rites Limited fell 3.36 percent to Rs. 213 on the NSE. The Company today reported a rise in Net profit 10.2% up to Rs 117.5 crore.
