Shares Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HINDPETRO/HPCL) trade significantly higher (up 3%), while Britannia Industries trade marginally higher (up 0.13%) today after the NSE’s index rejig, which was already reported in February 26, come into effect on Friday
As per NSE, the major FMCG player Britannia Industries will replace Hindustan Petroleum Corp Limited in the Nifty50-index effective from today, March 29. The exchange added that 6 stocks viz., Bajaj Holdings and Investment, Divi’s Laboratories Ltd, HDFC Asset management Co, Hindustan Petroleum Corp, Page Industries and United Breweries will be included in the Nifty Next50 index.
During Mid-noon hours, Friday, shares of Britannia Industries advanced by 0.13percent at Rs3,100.50 per share on NSE, while Hindustan Petroleum Corp surged higher by 2.92percent at Rs280.40 per share.
The other re-constituted shares whose momentum in today’s trade on the NSE indicate: Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd, down 6.25% to 3369 per share, Divi’s Laboratories up 2.99% at Rs.1704, HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd up 0.15% at Rs1525, Page Industries up 2.56% at Rs24869.30 and United Breweries up 0.87% at Rs1386.80 as at 12.20 pm.
Meantime, BSE Sensex quoted at 38569.76 up 50 points and the Nifty50 at 11584.45 up 14.45 points.
